How to Use and Dosage

  • Existing Pots: Sprinkle 1 scoop (10ml) on top of the soil in Ø17cm pots and water as usual.
  • Repotting: Repot your plant as normal. 180 days after repotting mix 1 scoop (10ml) into 2L of substrate and mix it through the soil.

Tips

  • Fertilize only while the plant is growing (spring/summer). Pause during fall and winter.
  • Less is more: Never exceed the recommended dosage.
  • No need to dissolve in water—apply directly to the soil.
  • Ferns: Use half the dosage (sensitive to over-fertilising).
  • Do not use this fertiliser the first 180 days after repotting with SYBASoil!

Tropical BIO Slow-Release Plant Food

Tropical BIO Slow-Release Plant Food is the simplest way to keep your fast-growing houseplants well-fed for months at a time. This tropical bio slow release fertilizer is made from clean, organic ingredients that gradually dissolve into the soil, providing long term organic feeding without constant effort. Ideal for Monstera, Philodendron, Alocasia, and other leafy species, these tropical bio nutrient granules supply steady energy for bold foliage and healthy roots.

Why BIO Slow-Release Helps Tropical Plants Thrive

Tropical houseplants are known for their vigorous growth, but that also means they use up nutrients quickly. Standard fertilisers often deliver a sharp boost followed by a sudden drop, which can stress your plants. With organic tropical controlled release care, your plants receive a continuous supply of balanced nutrition that mimics how they would be nourished in their natural environment. This gentle method keeps roots strong, leaves lush, and growth consistent without risk of overfeeding.

How BIO Granules Work

Tropical bio granules break down slowly in the substrate, releasing tropical natural release nutrients in line with your plant’s needs. Instead of requiring frequent feeding, one application provides steady support for several months. By using tropical bio care granules, you reduce maintenance while ensuring your houseplants never go without essential nutrition.

Benefits of BIO Slow-Release Feeding

  • Provides tropical bio growth granules that fuel steady development
  • Supports large-leaf plants with consistent access to nutrients
  • Prevents common issues like weak stems and pale foliage
  • Safe and organic, protecting roots from fertilizer burn
  • Designed for bark-based or mixed tropical soil substrates
  • Full of Biostimulants which work in symbiosis with the soil

With tropical bio fertilizer, your plants enjoy balanced nourishment that fits their natural appetite and growth cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I re-feed?

After ~120 days or when the plant stops growing and starts showing nutrient deficiencies.

Can I combine different fertilisers?

We do not recommend mixing any of the SYBASupport Line fertilisers. Combining with Worm Castings & Lava gravel is possible.

For SYBASoil, We do still recommend waiting until the nutrients have run out (~6 months after repotting).

Can I use this product for cuttings?

You can! We recommend to lower the dosage to 25%, especially if the cutting hasn't rooted yet. We would still recommend to not fertilise until roots have formed.

Organic fertilisers are less intense than mineral fertiliser, therefore it's possible.

Can I use this product year-round?

In winter, houseplants take a nap or grow super slowly, so they don’t need much food.

Use only 25-50% of the usual fertiliser dose to keep them happy without overfeeding. 🌱

Can I use this product during the growth & flower stage?

Yes you can!

How do I store Tropical BIO Slow-Release Plant Food?

Make sure the product is stored in a dry, dark & cool place.

Stored this way the fertiliser will stay good for years, after that it's effectiveness will start to drop.

Will Tropical BIO Slow-Release Plant Food save my dying plant?

If a plant isn’t doing well, adding fertiliser is like giving candy to someone with a stomach ache—it might make things worse.

First, check what’s wrong: too much water, not enough light, or pests. Fix those problems before feeding it.

If lack of nutrients is the problem, your plant might look pale, grow slower, or have yellowing leaves, especially the older leaves.

That’s when fertiliser can help—but always use the right type and amount to avoid overfeeding!

What's the difference between BIO & Mineral fertilisers?

Mineral fertilisers are like fast food for plants—quick and easy but can run out fast.

Organic fertilisers are like healthy home-cooked meals—slower to work, but they make the soil better over time.

*For mineral substrates like SYBAHydro, we havent been able to find a suited bio fertiliser, that's why we sell the mineral fertilisers

How to recycle the Tropical BIO Slow-Release Plant Food?

All SYBASupport jars & bottles are made from 100% rPet (recycled & recyclable), remove the label and bring them to your local recycling facility under recycle code 1.

The scoops can be re-used and are from PP. You can recycle them under recycle code 5.

We are actively researching a way to create our own recycling services.

What's the difference between Liquid & Slow release fertilisers?

Liquid fertilisers are like a quick drink for your plants—they get nutrients fast but need more refills.

Slow-release fertilisers are like a snack that keeps unwrapping itself, feeding your plants bit by bit over time.
